About Us

History
PEV's Atlantic Canada Bulk Terminal is located on what used to be the Sydney Steel Plant wharf.
When the steel plant was first built in the opening years of the 1900s, a complex of three finger piers extended into the harbour near this site. These three piers were located at the base of Dominion St. in the Whitney Pier neighbourhood of Sydney.
Our Vision is to be the safest, most customer-focused, and successful bulk-material port in North America.
PEV’s experienced and professional team specializes in moving the coal resources of Eastern North America to an energy-hungry world. Our world-class wharf has been handling bulk materials and serving global markets since 1975.
The Port of Sydney is the nearest North American landfall to Europe and Brazil. With a 356 meter-long wharf and a newly dredged harbour, PEV is upgrading its facilities to better match the needs of Cape-sized vessels and global energy markets.
